Coffee Drink Recipes

CALYPSO COFFEE COFFEE DRINK – serves 6

Ingredients:

5 cups  – hot  black coffee

2 tbsp  – white rum

4 tbsp  – Tia Maria

2/3 cups  –  double cream, lightly whipped

Preparation:

Heat all the ingredients, except the cream, but do not boil.

Lightly whip your double cream.

To Serve:

Warm four brandy glasses and divide the liquid between them.  Stir and add the cream, pouring it slowly over the back of a spoon so that its weight does not pull it straight to the bottom and sits on top.

COFFEE NOGGIN COFFEE DRINK – serves 6 – 8 

Ingredients:

2/3 cups  – milk

2/3 cups  – single cream

1 ¼ cups – hot sweetened coffee

4  –  eggs, separated

4 tsp – Crème de Cacao

2/3 cups – double cream

grated nutmeg

Preparation:– 

–          Whisk together in a saucepan over a low heat the milk, single cream and sweetened coffee. Do not boil. Whisk in the egg yolks.  Cook until the mixture thickens.  Strain and cool.

–          Stir in the Crème de Cacao.  Whisk the double cream until it just holds its peaks and fold into the coffee mixture.

–          Just before serving, whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold into the coffee noggin.

To serve:

Serve in glass cups, goblets or mugs. Sprinkle the top with nutmeg.

COFFEE CRÈME  COFFEE DRINK – serves 2

Ingredients:

1 cup – Crème Fraiche

1 cup  – Cold black coffee

2 tbsp –  Crème de Cacao

2 tbsp –  Vodka

thin ribbon of orange zest

Preparation:

Put all ingredients in a blender and pour into chilled tall glasses.

To serve:

 Decorate with a spiral of orange zest. 

SOUTHERN BELLE  COFFEE DRINK – serves 2

Ingredients:

4 tbsp – Southern Comfort

4 tbsp  – apricot brandy

1 cup   – cold black coffee

¼ cup  – double cream

slices of fresh apricot

 Preparation:

Put all the ingredients into a blender and pour into chilled glasses.

To serve:

Decorate with slices of fresh apricot.

COFFEE COKE FLOAT DRINK– serves 4

Ingredients:

2/3 cups  – single cream

2 ½ cups – chilled strong sweetened coffee

4 scoops  – coffee ice cream

1 large bottle of coca cola

Preparation:

Stir the cream into the coffee.  Mix will.  Pour into four tall glasses only half filling.  Add a scoop of ice cream to each glass and top up with coca cola.

CAFÉ  MEXICANO  COFFEE DRINK – serves 4

Ingredients:

¼ cup  – double cream

¾ tsp   – cinnamon

¼ tsp   – nutmeg

1 tbsp  – sugar

2 ½ cups – double strength hot coffee

4 tsp    – chocolate syrup

Preparation:

Whip the cream with one-third of the cinnamon, all the nutmeg and sugar.  Whip until the cream just holds it peaks.

Put one teaspoon of the chocolate sauce into four demitasse cups.  Stir the remaining cinnamon into the coffee and put into the cups.  Mix well to blend on the syrup.  Spoon over the whipped cream.
